is estimated that 65% of the country's Fortune 500 companies have strategic plans
to acquire another company this year. This trend, of course, is not restricted
to Fortune 500 companies. Acquisitions, mergers, and department/division consolidations
are occurring across the spectrum of businesses. A primary cost benefit expectation
from these transactions is effective and efficient integration of technologies.
Identifying appropriate platforms, orchestrating contract and license agreements
with vendors, planning projects, setting user expectations, training, converting
data, managing people resources and architecting networks are examples of activities
that must be thoroughly planned. Professionally directed due diligence will prepare
the integration team to advance the integration effort with minimum delays and
surprises.
RAI's success in assisting clients with integrating systems
is recognized from coast to coast. Personal experiences and skills are complemented
with state-of-the-art tools used to assist with understanding, planning and designing
an integration process. Many of the tools and processes used throughout the integration
assignments are adopted by the client and integrated into their mainstream business
operations.

IT organizations that develop systems in-house use a combination of tools and
processes expecting to gain productivity and develop better applications. Sometimes
a cycle of prototyping/user testing works best. Other situations favor more up
front emphasis on requirement definitions and detailed data modeling techniques.
Whatever the correct approach may be for applications development in your IT organization,
RAI's virtual organization assures clients they are being served by the qualified
professional with matching experiences and supporting credentials. RAI has earned
a reputation for completing major application development projects on scope, on
time, and on budget.

| | Selecting
a technology system or a major system component (hardware/application software/network/internet)
indicates change. There are inherent risks with change. Will it meet the business
requirements in the future? What are the hidden costs? How will it be supported?
How stable is the vendor? What are the implementation efforts required? How is
training handled? How can it be incorporated into our existing components without
a great deal of business interruption? How well does new technology coexist with
legacy technology? What are the incremental growth costs? RAI is skilled at assessing
risk and guiding clients through the selection process while minimizing risk.
RAI's approach to selection of technologies is business driven and vendor
independent. RAI follows a proven methodology while maintaining a vendor neutral
position. RAI does not represent or receive compensation from any hardware or
software vendor. This means that RAI's only concern is meeting the needs of clients
as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Consultants are equipped with
a wide breadth of knowledge in diverse and leading-edge technologies. This experience
proves important when identifying solution alternatives for clients.

modeling is a process that captures relevant business objects that must be managed
in business operations and documents how they relate one to the other. These business
objects and relationships are organized to create a graphical or schematic representation
that captures the essence of the enterprise or functions included in the process.
Business modeling borrows a page from the traditional engineering book, in that
it uses specific symbols to represent particular types of objects. The electronic
engineer knows immediately the symbols for resistance or inductance. Similarly,
the business analyst uses specific symbols to represent business objects and business
rules that define the relationships between the business objects. Business modeling,
at its highest level, provides a strategic view of the subject modeled. An accurate
business model permits timely and dependable assessment of external factors to
current operations along with easy recognition of critical success points to accommodate
growth or downsizing. A business model driven down to its lowest level, the data
level provides a primary input to modern applications development tools for application
prototyping.
RAI's understanding and application of business modeling provides
a competitive advantage over other consulting groups. Combining RAI's ability
to identify when modeling is appropriate with business and methodology expertise
provides RAI clients with a new perspective of their business.
